What does SHADES stand for?

S upporting the H ealth, A rts, D iversity, E ducation, and S afe Spaces of Queer & Trans People of color and the folx who love them.

What’s the history ?

The SHADES Project was birthed when St.Louis creative Ball vogue culture crossed paths with the city’s progressive arts scene. Both where using creative expression to support the mental, physical, and emotional wellness of LGBTQ+ people of color.

Realizing the need to elevate QTPOC folx in positions of leadership and create innovate ways to support the community SHADES was born.
